- Todays' News - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------->>>>>>> -27 October 2008 - 7:00 am New website under construction. Bear with us as we transition information. For all inquiries please email info@modarchitect.com or call 904.245.8070. Thank you. -31 October 2007 - 6:00 pm Mod + Arch Design has completed drawings for its very first project to be built. A single family addition in the Lakewood area of Jacksonville, approx. 770 square feet. It will include a new Master Suite with walk-in closet and Master Bath as well as a new Game Room complete with dry bar. We're very excited about this project so stay tuned for photos of the different stages of construction. I'll also be posting a rendering of the rear elevation soon. Also, mark your calendars for November the 12th. The Jacksonville Chapter of Emerging Architects will be having yet another gallery showing for their work with Habijax. EA has been working with Habijax to design the new single family homes that will make up the newest Phoenix Heights Development. I'm sure more about this exciting new endeavor will be in the papers during the coming months, so keep an eye out. -10 May 2007 - 8:00pm The Jacksonville Chapter of Emerging Architects is having a Gallery showing the 21st of May at the Burrito Gallery, 6pm - 9pm. The Gallery, entitled Humane|Urbane will be the unveiling of the final designs for the Clara White Competition which was announced on their website beginning March. There are some extremely talented artists, designers and Architects in the EA crowd, so be sure to check that out. And, don't forget to vote on May 15th (Tuesday). -3 May 2007 - 6:15pm In this weeks edition of The Resident there is an interesting article about Brooklyn (Jacksonville, not New York). The Broolyn Park development, evidentally, is ready to be underway. "Spanning 12.5 acres, Brooklyn Park will be located between Riverside Avenue and Park Street and Leila and Jackson Streets with Stonewall Street running down the center." Being constructed in two phases, the first featuring a mixed-use tower and improved infrastructure, the ultimate build-out will be a complex of retail, residence, and hotel space in the heart of downtown. Check out the article. This is not your typical downtown development project. Jacksonville is in serious need of some well designed developments. For too long the city has been plagued by one cracker-jack structure after another. And while developments like The Shands and The Penninsula may be important to the growth of the city, they will never be mistaken for examples of well thought out or exploratory Architecture. Riverside and the Northbank seem to be the only places where this is acceptable. Though we're about 30 years overdue for something of a true Modern caliber. We'll see what the future has in store. I'm at least hopeful. -1 April 2007 - 4:30 pm WEBSITE LAUNCHES WITH COMPLETE SUCCESS! Today I have launched the official Mod+Arch Design website. In the coming days I'll be posting some portfolio images as well as updating the "About" section and getting in some information about any up and coming projects that may present themselves. So, while we're "under construction", please bear with me for a short time. I promise you, the final product will be worth the wait. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------->>>>>>>
