When you are making your home feel like your home, you will need to be sure you are taking every detail seriously. There are modern options like cellular blinds that should be used on their own, and I definitely would not use them in small windows - they are something that can be quite spectacular so you might want to keep them on their own if you choose to use them. The impression can be quite messy if you try to mix them up too much.

For small windows you could be well offwith just a valance and rolling blinds - you can choose the colors and materials to match your interior design, and since the window is quite small, I would not make the window treatments anyhting too spectacular - you kind of want to pull the attention somewhere else. The larger windows are the ones that need to be surrounded with something gorgeous so that you will enjoy looking at them.

Never forget practicality, and even if you want to have light curtains, you should have something that you can use to blackout the window. There are going to be situations where you want total darkness in the room, and if you don't have a roll up blackout curtain hidden behind the valance, you will regret it when you need it.
